The Mazda BT-50 Pangolin 2 originally debuted at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show. At the time it was only a concept car for Mazda Philippines to feel out the market to see if there was any interest in a special edition of the BT-50. In this case, this new iteration is the second special edition of the pickup truck to be named after the anteater.
The Mazda BT-50 brought unrivaled design, comfort, and capability to the popular pickup truck segment when we launched it in November 2021. One year later, it is only appropriate that we mark its anniversary with the return of the BT-50 4×4 Pangolin Edition 2

This special edition of the vehicle is Mazda’s way of working to help raise awareness about the Pangolin as it is a critically endangered species and to help bring about environmental preservation for it. It also serves as a renewal of the brand’s commitment to supporting the Katala Foundation; a non-stock, non-profit Philippine NGO that is dedicated to helping preserve and protect species that are endemic to the country.

Here’s why Isuzu Philippines is still the number 1 truck brand today

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has maintained its position as the number 1 truck brand in the country, taking up 42.7% of the overall market share. According to the latest combined data by Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association, Inc. (TMA), IPC sold a total of 3,200 trucks from January to August 2025, a notable 10% increase over the same year-to-date period in 2024, which saw the brand rolling out 2,912 units.
The biggest results came from the Category III light-duty trucks, where IPC sold 1,934 units, earning it a 42.9% market share of the category. The growth is largely driven by the Isuzu N-Series, a model that’s widely used by logistics and distribution businesses nationwide.
Category IV medium-duty trucks also showed positive results, with a total of 998 units sold, which accounted for a 43% increase in category market share and a 4.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The Isuzu F-Series is a key player in this category, serving companies in long-distance transport and industrial applications.
Finally, in the Category V heavy-duty trucks, IPC sold a total of 278 units, achieving a 40.3% category market share, which represented a 4.4% gain over the same period last year. This positive growth is helped by government infrastructure projects and large-scale logistics. IPC’s S-Series and E-Series models are the strongest in this category.
Beyond sales, IPC continues to support customers through its nationwide dealer network, parts availability, mobile servicing, and technical training programs for drivers and mechanics. These initiatives are designed to minimize downtime and ensure the long-term reliability of vehicles.

“We at Isuzu Philippines are honored by the support of Filipino businesses and individuals, which reflects the trust we’ve built through our dedication to delivering the best customer experience—from sales to aftersales. The growth for each segment, from light-duty, medium-duty, to heavy-duty trucks, demonstrates our mission to provide reliable mobility solutions tailored to the diverse needs of our customers,” said IPC President Mr. Mikio Tsukui.
