The Candaba viaduct will be closed for more concrete work starting now until tomorrow. The NLEX corporation released an advisory earlier today announcing that there will be a partial closure on the southbound section of the Candaba viaduct on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).
According to the advisory, the viaduct will also be completed by November 4, 2022, at 5:00 AM, and the closure will happen on November 3, 2022, at 8:00 PM, tonight.

As the NLEX Corporation advisory reads: “Please be advised that the 3-kilometer portion of the Candaba viaduct will be closed to give way to concreting works on November 3, 8:00 PM to November 4, 5:00 AM.”
“Counterflow will be implemented at the northbound portion for Manila-bound vehicles.”
“Traffic patrol crews/marshals will be deployed and directional signs will be put up in strategic areas.”

The Candaba viaduct will be closed for more concrete work starting now until tomorrow. The NLEX corporation released an advisory earlier today announcing that there will be a partial closure on the southbound section of the Candaba viaduct on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).
According to the advisory, the viaduct will also be completed by November 4, 2022, at 5:00 AM, and the closure will happen on November 3, 2022, at 8:00 PM, tonight.

That being said, motorists who are coming from or going to Pampanga will need to be advised of the bottleneck that will occur due to the partial closure and the counterflow that the NLEX traffic marshals will set up.
The concrete work that is scheduled for the Candaba is part of the NLEX Corporation’s rehabilitation works on this key segment of the highway. The repair project started in July 2022 and has seen progress since. Due to the nature of the viaduct, the NLEX Corporation has also rerouted trucks with more than 10 wheels to different routes. Only trucks with a maximum of 10 wheels and not exceeding 33 tons will be able to traverse this section of the highway while the project is ongoing.
Trucks that will head southbound over the 10-wheel or 33-ton limits are advised to take alternative routes through Los Angeles or San Fernando Pampanga via Gapan, Nueva Ecija, or from Mabalacat depending on the travel schedule. These routes will be open to large trucks between the hours of 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
