H0910001 Kapitbahay na nangutang pinahiya ng inutangan part2

The Honda HR-V has been a hot ticket item for Honda Philippines, so much so that the Japanese automaker is already experiencing issues with sourcing units, and getting them to dealerships as quickly as possible. While the vehicle itself has been available since April, the ongoing global parts shortage has made it difficult for the brand to deliver units on time thus resulting in delays.

To try to remedy this, the Japanese brand has offered its other models to its customer base as there are still little to no available units of the HR-V to meet the increasing demand for it. Things aren’t looking to be good for the crossover for the 2023 model year as well as a hefty price increase across the variant range is to be expected in the coming year.

A report from Autoindustriya states that come 2023, the Honda HR-V will come with a new price of P1,389,000 for the entry-level model, P1,648,000 for the entry-level turbo variant, and finally, P1,739,000 for the top-of-the-line turbo RS model. This represents a whooping P139,000 increase for the S model and a P50,000 increase for the Turbo V model. However, the RS variant seems to have retained its original SRP as it was only launched recently at the Philippine International Motor Show. Take this information with a grain of salt as these prices are not yet final and could still change come next year and may not affect the 2022 model versions of the crossover just yet. Honda Philippines has yet to release an official statement on the matter.

Honda BR-V pricing

While the parts shortage could be a good explanation for the increase in price for the HR-V, it could also be a way for Honda Philippines to make room for the upcoming all-new Honda BR-V. The new 7-seater is set to make its debut soon on November 21, 2022. As Honda has already released the official price ranges for the all-new BR-V it could be presenting the vehicle as a more attractive option. Price ranges for the new BR-V start at P1,100,000 for the entry-level S manual model, P1,190,000 for the S CVT variant, P1,300,000 for the V model, and finally P1,390,000 for the top-of-the-line VX model. This places the new 7-seater right in the middle of the pricing of its crossover counterpart making for an interesting proposition.
