H0910009 ANG M!LAGRO SA BOYS CR part2

All souls day is approaching, and things around Metro Manila are just about ready for the Undas season this year. The MMDA recently announced that the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) will be suspended during the long weekend, from October 31, 2022, to November 1, 2022.

Motorists who plan to visit the cemeteries on these days are also advised to plan their trip ahead and start their trips early to avoid heavy traffic and congestion for the long weekend.

As usual, Saturdays and Sundays don’t have coding hours, but the Monday and Tuesday holidays are free for all cars to roam. Coding resumes the day after, November 2, 2022, Wednesday.

That being said, motorists with number plates ending in 1, 2, 3, and 4, will be allowed to traverse major thoroughfares during the holidays. After those days, the Number Coding scheme will resume, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on roads where the MMDA implements the coding scheme. In short, you don’t have to worry about UVVRP travel restrictions during the holidays.

Local Government units like Makati have their own number coding scheme and have not yet released an advisory or statement regarding the suspension of their own coding scheme. Until an announcement is made, it’s safe to assume that the LGU will be implementing its scheme like normal. Although, given that it is a holiday, the City of Makati could make an announcement soon.

That being said, it’s important to plan ahead for the holiday season. Motorists should expect heavy traffic, especially in the cemeteries should they choose to visit their dearly departed. Remember to prepare and plan your routes ahead of time, and start your trip early to avoid the crowds and get a head start on your visits.
