The Kia Forte in the Philippines is getting a bit long in the tooth and is due for an update. In the US, the sedan is doing well as it recently got a facelift and new additional features for the 2023 model year. The South Korean sedan has received a sleeker and sportier update that gives it a fresh new look with its redesigned “tiger nose” grille.
Aside from the redesigned grille the Forte also gets a new front bumper, a new set of three-point LED foglights, and a new set of taillights as well. Of course, these will differ depending on the variant chosen, but the new foglights come with the GT model, while the GT-line gets its own unique LED taillights. The sedan also gets a new set of 17-inch wheels.
Under the hood, the Kia Forte is still rocking a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. It still produces 198hp and 265 Nm of torque with power being sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Aside from the exterior changes, the 2023 Kia Forte also gets updates to its safety system. As it now comes with advanced driver assistance systems as standard. There is no news if the interior of the sedan will get updated as well but we suspect that it will differ from dealer to dealer.

While the Forte in the US has received a substantial upgrade, there is no word yet if Kia Philippines will bring in a newer version of the sedan for the local market. The South Korean automaker is currently offering the local version of the sedan with several attractive promos and discounts which could indicate that it is slowly getting rid of its inventory for either a new model to arrive or for something to replace it for the Philippine market.
With the Philippine International Motor Show just around the corner, a new Kia Forte could be on the books for the South Korean automaker as it did state that it would be unboxing something new for the motor show. Make sure to stay tuned and find out what they will be bringing to the country as we will update you on the latest news from Kia Philippines.
