To celebrate the special relationship that Mazda Philippines has with the Miata Club of the Philippines, the Japanese automaker has released a limited run of the MX-5, exclusive to the local automotive market.

As the only car manufacturer to officially recognize a car club, the MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition is the culmination of our unique relationship. It is an example of how we want to build, Kizuna – a lasting, almost inseparable bond an owner has with his car.

Mr. Steven Tan
President of Mazda Philippines

This limited edition MX-5 is available exclusively in Platinum Quartz Metallic with a Navy Blue soft top. It also comes with Navy Blue accents on the side mirrors and roll hoops. For its wheels, the sports car comes with Satin Silver 17-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition has a special Mazda Connect Commander knob that is finished in Sterling Silver. It also comes with a Serial Number Plate also finished in the same material. Aside from this, the vehicle also comes with black leather seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a 9-speaker Bose sound system. Each unit will also come with a commemorative car cover and the MCP 25th Anniversary Photobook.

This special edition MX-5 is available in both automatic and manual transmissions with a starting price of P2,250,000 and P2,300,000 respectively.

2023 Mazda CX-8

The 2023 Mazda CX-8, on the other hand, gets minor upgrades to keep the three-row crossover SUV looking fresh. For starters, it’s a new redesigned gun metallic front grille with interlocking elements, a new front bumper chrome garnish, new bright silver 19-inch alloy wheels, and large dual tailpipes. Aside from this, the CX-8 also gets new badging in Mazda font.

Just like before, the Mazda CX-8 is available in two seating configurations, a six-seater, and a seven-seater. This allows customers to prioritize space or numbers depending on their needs. Standard features for the three-row crossover SUV include deep red Nappa leather seats and Sen Wood interior accents. Other comfort features for the vehicle include an electric glass sunroof, a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster meter, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless device charging, two additional USB ports in the third row, and a hands-free power tailgate.

Powering the CX-8 is still the same 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine that is mated to a 6-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission with manual shift mode and cruise control. It makes 187hp and 252 Nm of torque sending power to the front wheels or all four depending on the variant chosen.

For safety, the CX-8 now comes with i-Activsense as standard. This gives the car access to features such as Smart City Brake Support – Forward, Smart City Brake Support – Rear, High Beam Control, and Driver Attention Alert. The CX-8 AWD Exclusive also gets Mazda Radar Cruise Control with stop and go function. These features and more are also complemented by other standard safety equipment such as six SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, dynamic stability control, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring with rear-cross traffic alert, and a 360-degree camera with front and rear proximity sensors.

There are just two variants available for the Mazda CX-8: the CX-8 2.5 Signature FWD 7-seater priced at P2,330,000 and the CX-8 2.5 AWD Exclusive 6-seater which is priced at P2,490,000. Like all new Mazda vehicles, it is bundled with a 5-year free service plan inclusive of labor, parts, and lubricants.
