The Toyota GR86 is one of Toyota Philippines’ most awaited vehicles to enter its lineup in the coming year. It was originally previewed at the Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR) Festival 2022, and now the Japanese automaker is planning something interesting for the sports car by opening up the order books for it starting this Saturday, August 6. However, it will only be available at select Toyota dealerships nationwide.

Similar to how the Toyota Supra and Toyota GR Yaris are being sold, the new Toyota GR86 will only be available at the brand’s certified roster of GR Performance dealerships which are the following:

  • Toyota Alabang
  • Toyota Bacoor, Cavite
  • Toyota Batangas City
  • Toyota Calamba Laguna
  • Toyota Cebu
  • Toyota Commonwealth
  • Toyota Davao City
  • Toyota Global City
  • Toyota La Union
  • Toyota Lipa, Batangas
  • Toyota Mabolo Cebu
  • Toyota Makati
  • Toyota Manila Bay
  • Toyota Otis
  • Toyota Quezon Avenue
  • Toyota San Fernando, Pampanga
  • Toyota San Pablo, Laguna
  • Toyota Silang, Cavite
  • Toyota Tacloban, Leyte

While the official specifications for the sports car aren’t out yet we can expect it to have similar specifications to its Subaru counterpart, the BRZ that is already available in the local market. This means that it will come with a 2.4-liter boxer engine and that it will likely have manual and automatic transmissions available. As for the technology side of things, the GR86 is rumored to have a more drift-oriented suspension setup compared to its twin the BRZ, so we can expect a few more skids to come out of this Toyota.

Toyota Philippines has yet to announce how much it will cost to reserve the new GR86, however, we assume that it will change depending on the dealer and unit availability.
