Exterior
The overall silhouette and proportions of the new Mitsubishi Xpander are by and large the same as the previous model. As a closer look would reveal, it’s in the details where Mitsubishi appears to have honed in with this refresh. For starters, the dimensions are slightly altered, with the new model being 120 mm longer and 50 mm higher. While the wheelbase is unchanged, it does get a higher ground clearance at 225 mm versus 205 mm in the old model.
Appearance-wise, Mitsubishi has retained its Dynamic Shield signature design with a few notable updates. There are now T-shaped LED headlamps that give off modern energy. The redesigned front bumper also comes with new front fog lamp housings.

Exterior
The overall silhouette and proportions of the new Mitsubishi Xpander are by and large the same as the previous model. As a closer look would reveal, it’s in the details where Mitsubishi appears to have honed in with this refresh. At the sides, the new Xpander gets 17-inch alloys to better accommodate its increased ride height. The rear packs T-shaped taillamps to match the headlamps, and the rear bumper gets a more simplistic design with vertical rear reflectors. Overall, the new Mitsubishi Xpander brings the model firmly into the present with its updated looks that conform better with the brand’s latest design philosophies.
Interior and Technology
There are more changes on the inside, as the new Xpander gets an interior update to delight its fans. The dashboard is now much more horizontally oriented, and the black fabric upholstery with diamond patterns is also new for 2022. Additionally, Mitsubishi has added more soft-touch material to make the Xpander look more premium in its class.
On the tech side, Mitsubishi has done away with the seven-inch display, instead opting for an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which should delight buyers across the range. Other notable tech features include a new electronic parking brake and two USB ports for the rear passengers.
As for safety, the 2022 Xpander gets the same features as the outgoing model, albeit with a few added toys for the upper variants. Standard features include ABS with EBD, dual airbags, and seven seat belts. Higher models get traction control and stability control for improved safety.
Power
For those expecting an engine change, look away. The new Mitsubishi Xpander continues to use the same 1.5-liter 4A91 gasoline mill found on the old model. It makes 104 hp and 141 Nm of torque. A five-speed manual and four-speed automatic continue as transmission options.
Pricing
The 2022 Mitsubishi Xpander is available in three variants: GLX 1.5 MT, GLX 1.5 AT, and GLS 1.5 AT. The base model starts at P1,050,000 and goes up to P1,180,000 for the top-spec variant.
Color availability depends on the variant with the lower models having Jet Black Mica, Graphite Gray Metallic, and Blade Silver Metallic. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line model gets Graphite Gray Metallic, Blade Silver Metallic, Red Metallic, and Quartz White Pearl.
