Ford Philippines has been slowly teasing the 2023 Ford Ranger in the country. These teasers come in the form of a few images here and there along with confirmation of certain specifications and variants. That being said, Ford Motor Company has released one more teaser, this time for the ASEAN market and with fuel efficiency in mind.
Something to take note of from the Blue Oval is that these figures are preliminary and cover the current range of engines that the pickup truck has along with the new 3.0-liter V6 turbo and V6 twin-turbo Ecoboost gasoline motors.
First up we have the 2.0-liter single turbo diesel that does a combined cycle fuel consumption of 7.6L/100km which is a slight drop from the previously available 2.2-liter engine that can do 8.0L/100km.
Next, we move on to the 2.0-liter Biturbo engine that produces between 6.9L to 7.2L/100km. These two figures mean that there might be a manual option to come with the Biturbo motor. However, this has yet to be confirmed by Ford Philippines.
We then have the new 3.0-liter turbo diesel V6 engine that does 8.4L/100km and the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline that does 11.5L/100km.
So far these engines are looking to be good as they are delivering the right amount of power for the appropriate amount of displacement. With gas prices being high and with the pricing difference between diesel and gasoline slowly disappearing the EcoBoost model could be a likely scenario for the local market.
