Nissan Philippines wants to further expand and strengthen its presence in the country. As it is currently the third best-selling automotive brand in the country, the automaker has announced that it has several things in store for the rest of 2022.

During its official presential turnover ceremony, the new President of Nissan Philippines – Juan Manuel Hoyos stated that he plans to continue the brand’s strong momentum in the local automotive market by further strengthening the brand’s vehicular lineup.

Hoyos stated that Nissan Philippines is planning to bring in six new or refreshed models in the coming months. While details of what these vehicles are exactly were not stated it could point to Nissan having a powerhouse lineup before the end of 2022. We suspect that the Japanese automaker will be bringing in the following models to help spice up its local lineup in the coming months.

Kicks e-Power

The Nissan Kicks was teased during the Manila International Motor Show as a display outside of the venue. While the LEAF took the EV spotlight for the automaker, the Kicks could be next in line to make its local launch soon.

Nissan Z

Nissan Z

Another possible local launch is the all-new Z which could pave the way for the Japanese automaker in terms of the still active sports car segment in the Philippines. If priced right it could prove to be a massive success for the automaker locally.

New X-Trail

Nissan announced that it had dropped the crossover from its local lineup. This could mean that it has finished its stocks and is paving the way for the fourth generation to make it into the local market. It could come to the country with its new turbocharged 1.5-liter motor which could put it into a very competitive pricing segment.

Nissan Pathfinder

Nissan already has a stellar lineup of 7-seater SUVs in the form of the Terra and Patrol, but the Japanese automaker could also be bringing in a 7-seater crossover into the mix in the form of the Pathfinder. If the model does come to market, it could be a hit if priced right for the feature set that it could offer.

Nissan Ariya

Nissan Ariya

Gas prices are on the rise in the Philippines and as such customers are looking for alternative means of transportation. With Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure slowly being developed, the Nissan Ariya could soon make its way into the market. The new model could also complement the LEAF in the local lineup giving customers more options when it comes to EVs.

Refreshed Urvan

The Nissan Urvan has been getting long in the tooth lately and is at the right age for a new model or at least a refresh. As the van has already gotten a facelift in Japan it could also be getting that same treatment for the local automotive market. With the new facelift, the Urvan could become an even more popular choice for a people hauler in the country.
