Motorists who frequent CAVITEX should brace for a toll fee increase of about P8 starting tomorrow, May 12, 2022. Expect either your wallet or RFID balance to shrink a little more every time you go through CAVITEX toll gates.
According to the Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) and along with the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), new toll rates will be rolled out in the CAVITEX Parañaque Toll Plaza as approved by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) for the R-1 segment of the expressway.

The price increase brings the toll fee from P25 for class 1 vehicles to P33. Subsequently, Class 2 vehicles will now be charged P67 while class 3 vehicles will be charged P100. Class 2 vehicles get a P17 increase from the P50 fee prior to the adjustment, and Class 3 vehicles will have to pay P25 extra over the previous P75 fee.
Prior to the increase, CIC completed several projects to improve the toll road such as the completion of asphalt overlay, provision of Pacific flyover and left turn facility, bridge widening, and facility maintenance. All of these projects and improvements were completed in 2020.

Private vehicles need to brace for the extra charge, however, public utility vehicles (PUVs) will still be charged the same toll rates for three months. The CIC and PRA announced that there will be a toll rebate program to help drivers and operators adjust to the change.
As such, all motorists that will be going from Bacoor to Kawit, Cavite and vice-versa wil not be affected by the toll increase. Only areas from Zapote Interchange to the Seaside Drive will experience the increase. Remember to top up your RFID accounts before heading out to these roads, or prepare extra cash for the imminent price hike to happen tomorrow, May 12, 2022, for all motorists. PUVs get some extra wiggle room and will only be charged the new rate after three months.
