The Geely Azkarra has been in the automotive market for quite some time now. While it takes a different name in other countries as goes by the Boyue nameplate, it has reached the point in its model life cycle where it’s due for a bit of a refresh. A refresh is exactly what Geely did to the crossover, however, these changes are subtle as nothing radical was done to the vehicle.
Exterior
Starting from the exterior, the Boyue or Azkarra still retains the same shape and front fascia. There isn’t much to notice at a glance but the devil is in the details, especially with the grille. Instead of its expanding cosmos design, the crossover now sports vertical slats similar to what can be found on the Geely Emgrand. It also appears that the design of the wheels has also been changed for this minor update along with 18 and 19-inch wheel sizes to choose from. Aside from front this the rest of the vehicle remains the same save for a blacked-out tailgate garnishing, a revised taillight design, and a new lower bumper design.

The Geely Azkarra has been in the automotive market for quite some time now. Interior
The interior of the Azkarra remains a familiar place with roughly the same layout being applied. We say roughly as there is a slight change on the dashboard specifically in the infotainment area. Instead of being recessed into the dashboard, this version of the vehicle now gives the 10.25-inch infotainment system a floating appearance with a rectangular silver bezel. This gives it a slightly more premium look over its predecessor.
As for the rest of its features, these have been retained for the updated model. Something to note is that the GKUI Smart Ecosystem in the 2022 Akzara now comes with 4G mobile internet connectivity with in-car WiFi and the “Hello, Geely” intelligent voice recognition software. It also comes with real-time traffic reporting, and with over-the-air software updates. The power plant of the Azkarra still remains the same for the Malaysian market being made available with a 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.
It is still unclear if Geely Philippines will be bringing in the refreshed version of the Azkarra. The automaker has already trimmed down its locally available variants to just one model which could indicate a lower market interest for the nameplate. That being said, it is still a possibility especially as there are still a few Azkarra fans out there that will welcome these new minor updates. The automaker has been releasing special editions of its Coolray crossover, so the possibility is still there.
