Ford has announced that the Mustang is the world’s best-selling sports coupe for the seventh straight year. The honor comes as the American Automaker celebrates the iconic nameplate’s 58th anniversary.
According to Ford, its data analysis comes from registration data collated by S&P Global Mobility, a market leader in automotive insights. The United States is still the largest market for the Mustang, taking up 76 percent of global sales. Growth is also apparent in markets like New Zealand (up 54.3 percent), Brazil (up 37.3 percent), and South Korea (up 16.6 percent).
The 2022 Ford Mustang boasts eight new colors this year, including Atlas Blue Metallic, Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat, Dark Matter Gray Metallic, Eruption Green Metallic, Grabber Blue Metallic, and Mischievous Purple Metallic. In addition, the Shelby GT500 gets a Ford Performance-exclusive Code Orange color, while the Shelby GT500 Heritage and Coastal Limited models get a Brittany Blue Metallic option.

The all-new 2024 Ford Mustang is right around the corner, with leaks circulating all over the internet. Ford itself has not confirmed specs or other details, so fans will have to wait and see what the Blue Oval has in store for the seventh-gen Mustang.
Meanwhile, the 2022 Ford Mustang is available in the Philippines, where it currently starts at P2,858,000 for the 2.3 EcoBoost Premium SelectShift AT Fastback model. From there, the 5.0-liter V8 models start at P3,538,000 and go up to P3,718,000 for the GT convertible model. The top-spec Shelby GT500 sells for a whopping P7,760,000, but you get equivalent performance with eight cylinders, 760 hp, and 847 Nm of torque.
