Family and safety go hand-in-hand no matter what the trip nor how far the trip will be, and Maxus Philippines brought members of the media to experience first-hand just how versatile and how safe their cars can be.

The compact MPV was subject to rigorous tests during the drive with the media. The brand highlighted all four of the G50’s variants to showcase just how powerful, capable, and how safe these cars can be. Members of the media were given the chance to test out the safety features of the G50 in a controlled environment, and even the base model was not exempt from getting Maxus’ ABS with EBD, and even the Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP).

As you move up the ladder in the Maxus G50’s variant lineup, you’re treated with more interior refinements and attention to detail for driver and passenger comfort. The Comfort variant still has the same space as the higher trims, but the Pro has several features that make it stand out which include a rear camera, multifunction steering wheel, keyless entry, push-start electronic parking brake with auto hold, cruise control, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Then once you get to the elite, you get exceptional amenities for drivers and passengers such as automatic climate control, a capable 360-degree camera, a large 12-inch touchscreen for infotainment, and roof rails for expanding the MPV’s versatility.

The top-of-the-line G50 Premium boasts full features such as electric seats, a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, side airbags, power-folding mirrors, LED headlights, and a posh interior that will be a joy to sit in.

Maxus G50 Interior

Maxus is trying to position the MPV as an affordable all-purpose hauler with luxuries and features that can only be found in the upper end of the market. With specifications and features that can only be found in more expensive cars, the MPV’s looking to make a splash in its segment by offering Filipinos more for less.

There are two engine options in the lineup, a 1.5-liter turbo and a 1.3-liter turbo mated to a manual transmission, with the latter being the newer option in the lineup. Regardless of the smaller displacement, the manual base model trim still has enough power to bring the vehicle up to speed and haul a few passengers while it’s at it. Maxus is also proud to say that the G50 can be had for as low as P948,000, which is a stellar price considering that you can seat up to eight individuals. The full-featured Premium variant tops out the line at P1,338,000, not bad considering that you get the full suite of features and tech plus a ton of space.
