The local version of the Honda HR-V is going to make its debut on April 16, 2022. In North America, however, things are a little bit different as the Japanese crossover has just made its debut for its second generation for the 2023 model year. While this model is radically different from what is being offered by Honda Philippines locally, as this model is based on the Vezel. Its American counterpart is based on the Honda Civic.
The all-new Honda crossover now comes with an overhauled nose. The changes with the vehicle start from the bottom where it now comes with a wide lower fascia with a mesh at the center and vertical air inlets at the corners. The grille is also now more angular compared to its previous iteration and now has a hexagonal pattern in the middle.
While the sides of the vehicle don’t have too many radical design changes over its predecessor it still does come with smooth character lines to help give it a premium look. Where things differ is when it comes to the back of the Honda HR-V as it now comes with a steeper rake for its rear pillar. Aside from this, the taillights of the crossover have been slimmed down to give it a smaller yet sleeker appearance.

It is important to note, that Honda has yet to show any interior photos of the HR-V, however, since it is based on the Civic, we could see a similar layout. The Japanese automaker has also yet to reveal the engine specifications for its new crossover, but we could expect to see a 1.5-liter turbocharged motor make its way under the hood of the car. A hybrid model could also be in the works along with a possible EV model as well. That being said, it’s all speculation at this point as Honda has been quiet about it. For now, we will need to wait and see what the Japanese automaker has in store for its new crossover specifically when it comes to the cabin of the vehicle along with the new technologies that it will have.
