Unvaccinated commuters who take the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will be able to get the vaccine at select stations beginning today, February 21, 2022. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) will open these pop-up vaccination drives at the Central, Recto, and Antipolo stations. Here are the schedules, which will remain until further notice:
LRT-2 Central Station:
- Mondays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
The vaccination drive at LRT-2 Central Station has begun as of Monday, February 21.
LRT-2 Recto Station:
- Tuesdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
The vaccination drive at LRT-2 Recto Station begins on Tuesday, February 22.
LRT-2 Antipolo Station:
- Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Fridays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
The vaccination drive at LRT-2 Antipolo Station begins on Wednesday, February 23.
The three sites will reportedly accommodate first doses and booster shots. Available vaccine brands include Sinovac, Moderna, and AstraZeneca but may differ according to the station you visit. The DOTr says about 200 individuals per day can register through the website Manila Covid-19 Vaccine. Those who fail to register online can avail of on-site registration on a first-come, first-serve basis.

This is in support of the nationwide vaccination drive against COVID-19, and in line with the directive of Department of Transportation Secretary Art Tugade to push for initiatives that would help ensure the health, safety and overall welfare of the riding public.

In other news, Phase 1 of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension viaduct recently reached completion. The project’s first stage involves building five stations: Dr. A Santos, Ninoy Aquino, Asiaworld, MIA, and Redemptorist. As of December 2021, the completion rate stood at 67.5 percent. When completed, these stations will decongest traffic and benefit commuters in the southern portion of Metro Manila.
