Toyota Philippines looks to be steadily adding more and more vehicles to its GR Sport lineup of cars. According to reports, the Japanese automaker has plans to launch the Toyota Corolla Altis in the country with a GR Sport kit and revised variants. If this holds to be true, then the sedan will be the fourth model in the country to receive this treatment, right after the Corolla Cross GR Sport.
These reports further reveal that the automaker will target to give the GR Sport kit to the higher version of the sedan, specifically to the 1.8 HEV and to the 1.6 V CVT variants. Aside from this, it looks like Toyota Philippines will also revise the local lineup of the sedan. Information from other reports reveals that there will no longer be a six-speed manual transmission model available for the nameplate locally and that it will only be available with a CVT.

As there are several versions of the Corolla Altis GR Sport available in the ASEAN region, it becomes difficult to determine which one we will get. However, with Toyota Philippines sourcing most of its vehicles from Thailand, there is a high possibility that we will get the Corolla Altis GR Sport model from that country. We will also likely get the updated version of the GR Sport kit, as there was a 2019 version of the GR Sport kit fitted on the sedan.
Aside from the lineup change and the announcement of the GR Sport Altis, further reports have covered the possible pricing of the sportier-looking sedan along with its colors. For its colors, the sedan will be made available in Celestite Gray Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Silver Metallic, and Red Mica Metallic for the 1.6 V GR Sport model. Buyers can also get the sedan in special colors such as Platinum White Pearl Mica, but they will have to add P5,000 to the SRP of the vehicle for that special paint job. As for its pricing, the only variant to have been revealed is the 1.6 V GR Sport model which will reportedly retail at P1,312,000.
