San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has inaugurated its P14-billion South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Elevated Extension project. It is now fully operational, cutting travel time between Muntinlupa to Balintawak in Quezon City to only 30 minutes.
SMC President and CEO Ramon Ang led the inauguration ceremony, while President Rodrigo Duterte attended with Senator Bong Go.
Today, we formally present to you the completed SLEX Elevated Extension project… With the completion of this project, seamless connectivity between SLEX, the Skyway system, and NLEX is now a reality.

In December 2021, SMC held a soft launch of the two-kilometer, two-laned southbound alignment of the SLEX Elevated Extension project. It bypassed the Alabang viaduct and connected the Sucat portion of the Skyway to SLEX in Susana Heights, Muntinlupa.

In December 2021, SMC held a soft launch of the two-kilometer, two-laned southbound alignment of the SLEX Elevated Extension project. It bypassed the Alabang viaduct and connected the Sucat portion of the Skyway to SLEX in Susana Heights, Muntinlupa.
According to Ramon Ang, the project’s completion could “play a significant part” in the Philippines’ post-pandemic economic recovery. In addition to serving private vehicles, the project will also pave the way for more efficient transport of goods and improved trade across the north and south. The segment alone could service up to 200,000 vehicles per day, said Ang.
At the inauguration ceremony, Ang thanked the President for supporting the private sector over the past five and a half years.
We thank President Duterte and his Build Build Build team, especially the Department of Public Works and Highways, headed by Sec. Mark Villar who was with us at the start of the project and through most of its construction, as well as Department of Transportation Sec. Art Tugade. They both recognized the importance of this project and gave us all the support we needed from start to end.

The SLEX Elevated Extension is now fully operational and open to the public. It cuts travel time between north and south considerably, so motorists now have a new option for traversing the metro with ease.
