The aim of the Chevrolet Equinox and Blazer EV is to provide an affordable option for buyers in the industry’s highest-volume segment. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) isn’t just a regular convention where tech companies can showcase their latest technology, it’s also the time of the year where car manufacturers can also strut their stuff and showcase what they will have to offer in the future. One such company is Chevrolet as it has recently announced the 2024 Equinox and Blazer electric vehicle (EV) at the tech show.

Aside from the new Chevrolet Silverado EV, these two crossovers will be joining the brand’s future lineup of electric vehicles. The aim of the Chevrolet Equinox and Blazer EV is to provide an affordable option for buyers in the industry’s highest-volume segment. With that said, Chevrolet’s goal is to make EVs available to everyone.
Both crossovers will be utilizing General Motor’s (GM) Ultium EV architecture which uses a scalable, skateboard-like platform for the battery pack. Chevrolet claims that with this platforms buyers can expect about 300 miles worth of range on the Equinox and between 250 to 300 miles on the smaller Blazer. With these specifications, this puts the two crossovers on point with their rival the Ford Mustang Mach-E which offers between 224 to 314 miles of range.
Other specifications for the crossovers have yet to be released, however, the Chevrolet Equinox is reported set to have a $30,000 USD price tag making it the most affordable long-range EV that the brand will have on sale in the coming years. The Chevrolet Blazer, on the other hand, has no official pricing just yet, but it should come out towards the end of 2022. The Equinox is will be available for fleet and retail sales by the fall of 2023, it will also come with LT and RS trims.
While it may take a while for these electric vehicles to reach the Philippine market it goes to show that Chevrolet is very much alive and well when it comes to the adoption of electrified mobility.
