Motorists who frequent the Metro Manila Skyway will be pleased to note that the southbound Skyway extension off-ramp is now open, offering easier access to the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX). The ramp will go over the Alabang Viaduct and course motorists straight towards Laguna and beyond.
Meanwhile, this development follows yet another off-ramp opening, but for southbound motorists looking to get off of the Skyway Extension. This off-ramp is meant for motorists headed to Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon Province, and was opened back on December 13, 2021.
The San Miguel Corporation (SMC) is also happy to report that the northbound Alabang-Zapote on-ramp is once again reopened, allowing motorists who are coming from Alabang, Las Pinas, and other near areas direct access to the elevated highway. This development does not necessitate a detour to Susana Heights in order to enter Skyway northbound.
While good news for most motorists, the entry point’s longevity is temporary. SMC did not make any further announcements on how long the ramp will be open, so it is likely that a future announcement will be made once more developments come through.
In the past, the ramp was used for Skyway access back when the construction for the Skyway extension was still ongoing. The open ramp will hopefully make a big impact on the traffic situation for Skyway-bound motorists. Prior to the ramp’s opening, motorists had to crowd at the Skyway Extension on-ramp.

All motorists that are entering the Skyway must also take note that an AutoSweep RFID must be installed before gaining access to the elevated motorway. We hope that the traffic situation gets better with this opening. Hopefully, SMC creates a long-term resolution for the traffic situation leading into the entrances of the elevated highway to help curb and reduce the traffic situation leading into the Metro.
