After making its first appearance back in October of 2020 in its home market, GAC Philippines has officially launched the second generation of the GAC GS4 in the country. The compact crossover now comes with a new exterior as well as a new interior design. To add to this, the automaker has also given it more features and a more affordable price tag to make it more enticing to those looking to get a new crossover.
Exterior
On the outside, the new GAC GS4 now comes with a set of sharp-looking LED headlights that look similar to its sedan counterpart the GAC GA4. It also comes with integrated LED daytime running lights as well as a bigger and bolder grille. The vehicle also gets a new set of vertical foglights with bezels that give it a more premium look. It is important to note that this new version of the GS4 is bigger than its predecessor making it 35mm longer, and 4mm wider than before. It also gets a bigger fuel tank as well. While the previous model came with a 50-liter tank, this new model now sports a 55-liter fuel tank.
The makeover for the new GS4 doesn’t just stop at the front as the rear gets a few revisions as well. These start with the new LED taillights which GAC says were inspired by the shape of a haul spreading its wings. Aside from this the crossover also gets a new chrome trim piece that connects the taillights along with a redesigned license plate holder that is now located on the tailgate itself instead of the bumper in the previous model.

Interior
Enter the cabin of the crossover and you are greeted by a more slim and minimalistic yet futuristic dashboard design. The revisions to the interior of the GS4 don’t stop there as it also gets new door panels as well. Leather is also very much present in the vehicle as the seats and steering wheel are covered in it.
As for its interior technology, the GS4 now comes with automatic climate control along with a 1.32-meter long panoramic sunroof to let more natural light into the cabin. The crossover also gets a new 8-inch infotainment system that comes with Bluetooth, USB, and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It also gets a 6-speaker sound system.
Safety
For its safety features, the new GS4 comes with the industry standard of ABS with EBD, brake assist, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, a tire pressure monitoring system, and four airbags. It also has a reverse camera, parking sensors, and cruise control.
Power
Under the hood, the new GAC GS4 packs a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 166hp and 265 Nm of torque. It sends power to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission with a sequential-shift feature.
Pricing
For its pricing, the new GAC GS4 is only available in one variant and it is priced at P1,098,000. This new sole variant is more affordable compared to its predecessor by P70,000 making it an even more attractive purchase.
