After the 2022 Honda Civic launched in the country, Honda Philippines held a press conference and announced that they will be launching three more models for 2022. Honda’s cooking up something big in the coming year, and we’re expecting a few models to make landfall by then, but what models?
Honda President, Masahiko Nakamura remained mum about what models will be dropping later next year but stated that the vehicles will be tailored to the Philippine market. Other goals included the dealership network expansion, as well as a more aggressive push with Honda Sensing technology in the brand’s cars.
So what models will come next year?
Let’s first take a look at the models that look like they’re in dire need of an update. These include the Honda HR-V, Honda BR-V, Honda Mobilio, and Honda Brio. These models all follow the prior design language of Honda and look somewhat dated compared to the City, Civic, and Accord, all of which ushered in a new era for the Japanese brand across the world.
However, there is still no new showcase of the Honda Brio. It seems more likely that Honda Philippines could field the new BR-V and HR-V for next year. That makes two with the third being a bit of an unknown.

With that being said, the new HR-V could be one of the first models to get an all-new generation for 2022. The new HR-V will get a more Civic-like cabin, and come with a much sleeker design. The first country in the ASEAN region to get it was Thailand, but that model is a hybrid-electric vehicle. It could happen that the 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine of the new Honda Civic could find its way into the engine bay of the new HR-V since the prior model came with the 1.8-liter engine found in the previous-generation Civic. It’s also been done in other countries, and Honda can certainly introduce a hybrid here in the Philippines for this model to go toe-to-toe with Toyota Corolla Cross.
Expect three more cars from Honda Philippines for 2022
We’re quite certain that the BR-V and HR-V will make an appearance next year, but what is the third?

Next up is the BR-V. Updated styling makes this model a looker. You get an updated grille along with a new rear end. It seems that the dimensions will stay largely the same, and the same 1.5-liter DOHC engine from the new Honda City could make an appearance in its engine bay.

Just as Honda’s press conference stated, these two models are expected to come with the brand’s Sensing technology pack that comes with the lane-watch camera, as well as a bevy of other safety enhancements to make the experience more convenient for drivers.
Still, these are all just speculations, and the third model’s identity is still a mystery for now. Powertrains might get a little electric boost for the incoming year as other manufacturers have been pushing for battery power in the country. As such, we’re hotly anticipating what Honda have in store for the Philippines in 2022.
