After making its debut in Thailand a couple of months ago, the 2022 Honda Civic has officially made its way into the Philippine market. It brings with it new looks along with a host of new features that make driving the vehicle much easier and much safer at the same time. To add to this Honda has also trimmed down the engine options of the new compact sedan making the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine the standard option for the entire model range.
Exterio
For its exterior styling, Honda has chosen to go with a more subtle look for the new compact sedan. It comes with much cleaner cuts and creases with a new minimalist and grown-up look in mind. It comes with a much wider lower grille and a new upper grille that wraps around the nose of the sedan which merges in with its new longer but sharper headlights. It also gets new accents on the lower bumper which extend the foglight cowls down to the lower chin of the vehicle.
Moving on to the side of the 2022 Honda Civic, you get nice clean lines with a well-pronounced beltline that stretches from the hood to the tail lights of the vehicle. Its window line, on the other hand, comes with a small kink towards the rear quarter panel helping give the compact sedan a wider stance. The all-new sedan also comes with a new set of 18-inch wheels for the RS model which helps give it a sportier look along with its trunk-mounted ducktail spoiler.

After making its debut in Thailand a couple of months ago, the 2022 Honda Civic has officially made its way into the Philippine market. To add to this Honda has also trimmed down the engine options of the new compact sedan making the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine the standard option for the entire model range.
Exterior

At the back, the Honda Civic now comes with a much flatter and less angular rear. It now comes with much larger almost C-shaped taillights that extend from the sides of the vehicle and narrow towards the trunk. Compared to the front, the back of the vehicle comes with a more minimalistic look with only a few lines.
Interior and tech

On the inside, the Honda Civic now comes with a new interior. Its dashboard continues the minimalistic as the exterior but features a new accent that stretches across its length. It is important to note that this new accent also hides the air vents giving the illusion of one large vent. The climate controls are also much larger than before and more pronounced making them easier to use at a glance. The steering wheel has also been revised giving the vehicle a sportier look thanks to red stitching accents found in the RS model.
For its tech, the all-new sedan can be had with a 7- or 9-inch infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto as standard. It is important to note that the RS variant of the Civic comes with wireless charging and wireless Apple CarPlay as well. As for its climate controls, single-zone air conditioning is available for its S and V variants while the RS model gets dual-zone air conditioning.
Safety
Honda Philippines has stepped up the game when it comes to the safety features that the all-new Honda Civic now has. The compact sedan is now available with Honda SENSING which gives the vehicle access to features such as adaptive cruise control, low speed follow, collision mitigation system, lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, lead car departure notification, and auto high beam. This is on top of having 4 to 6 airbags along with ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, ISOFIX tethers, 3-point seatbelts, and hill start assist.
Power
For its engine, Honda has done something interesting with the 2022 Honda Civic as it has made the 1.5-liter turbocharged motor standard for all models in the Philippines. This means that the sedan now has 175hp and 240 Nm of torque on tap with a CVT sending all the power to the front wheels.
Price
Even with all the new technology and upgrades, the 2022 Honda Civic is still competitively priced as it can be had for as low as P1,290,000 for its S Turbo CVT model. If you want to get all the bells and whistles available for the compact sedan, then be prepared to shell out P1,690,00 for the RS Turbo CVT variant.
