It looks like Ford Philippines wants to end the 2021 year strong by launching the latest version of the Ford F-150 into the country. Unlike the current version that is available with a gasoline engine, the latest generation of the popular pickup truck will reportedly enter the local market with a diesel motor instead.

According to reports, Ford Philippines has plans to launch the all-new pickup truck sometime in November. The automaker has yet to name a specific date, but we suspect that it will be towards the end of the month. There is also further information stating that a few customers have already pre-ordered a certain number of units which indicates that there will be a line forming for the pickup truck pretty soon.

While we all know that a pickup truck the size of the F-150 will demand a sizeable amount to buy, reports have stated that it will retail for around P3,398,000. This represents an increase of around P400,000 over the locally available top-of-the-line gasoline EcoBoost model. However, with that jump in price, we expect the pickup truck to be very well equipped.

The kicker here is that it will supposedly only be available in one variant, in the form of the F-150 Lariat Diesel 4×4. Ford Philippines has yet to reveal any other information as to if it will be launching other variants of the vehicle.

What we can expect from the pickup truck based on its American specifications is that it will come with a 3.0-liter power stroke turbo diesel engine. The motor produces around 250 hp and 597 Nm of torque. It will be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission which will send power to all four wheels. Aside from this, we expect it to come with LED headlights with daytime running lights, 18-inch wheels, a large chrome grille, and LED taillights as standard.

On the inside, we expect to see a large 12-inch infotainment system along with a more modern look and feel compared to the Ecoboost model that is locally available. A 12-inch digital instrument cluster will reportedly also be available with the vehicle along with leather seats with leather sidings to give the vehicle a more upscale look and feel.

The question still remains, what will happen to the older Ecoboost models, and will Ford Philippines bring in the gasoline version of the new F-150 as well?
