Kia North America has revealed the 2022 Kia Forte with its new more angular design and a host of new features. While the refreshed model made its debut in Korea several months ago, it has officially made its way stateside featuring a similar look to the South Korean model.
At the front, the updated sedan gets the brand’s new logo design, a redesigned set of headlights, and Kia’s corporate “tiger nose” grille. For the top of the line GT model, it gets a new sportier bumper that comes with a three-point LED fog light design that is arranged diagonally.
Similar to the range-topping model, the GT-Line variant also gets a new set of redesigned fog lights as well. Both higher tier models also feature a special set of LED taillights that are separate from the lower trim levels. Rounding off the new exterior look is a choice between 16- and 17-inch wheels for LXS and GT-Line models respectively. There is also a trunk lid spoiler available for the sedan. The EX trim on the other hand has been discontinued for the US market, which has, in turn, simplified the variant line up to the FE, LXS, GT-Line, and the GT.

Kia North America has revealed the 2022 Kia Forte with its new more angular design and a host of new features. While the refreshed model made its debut in Korea several months ago, it has officially made its way stateside featuring a similar look to the South Korean model.
At the front, the updated sedan gets the brand’s new logo design, a redesigned set of headlights, and Kia’s corporate “tiger nose” grille. For the top of the line GT model, it gets a new sportier bumper that comes with a three-point LED fog light design that is arranged diagonally.

On the inside, there are also a few substantial changes as well to the new Kia Forte. The driver’s display has been increased from 3.5 to 4.2-inch across its whole variant range, while the 8-inch infotainment system can be updated to a much bigger 10.25-inch unit. Speaking of head units, Kia is also adding wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to the sedan along with an electric parking brake and a set of USB charging ports for the passengers at the back.
Under the hood, the 2022 Kia Forte retains its two gasoline power plants. It still has its 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine that pushes out 147hp and 179 Nm of torque, and its 1.6-liter turbocharged motor that makes 201hp and 265 Nm of torque. The sedan still shifts via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It is important to note that the Forte GT model does come with a few upgrades especially when it comes to its exhaust system and multi-link rear suspension for better handling.
