Toyota Philippines has just launched the GR Sport version of two of its popular vehicles. These come in the form of the Toyota Fortuner GR Sport and the Toyota Hilux GR Sport. While these vehicles are essentially upgrades of the LTD and Conquest variants of the Fortuner and Hilux respectively, the Japanese automaker has given them a few minor upgrades aside from the Gazoo Racing goodies that have been added to both models.
In the case of the Toyota Fortuner, it will be getting similar specifications to that of its GR Sport counterpart from Thailand. This means that the popular 7-seater SUV will be getting a new front bumper and grille that will give it a more aggressive look. The rear bumper will also undergo a small redesign as well to complement the sporty appeal that the GR Sport badging brings to the nameplate. Other key changes to the Fortuner are the additions of new alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and of course, the GR Sport badging.

On the inside, the changes done to the vehicle are a little more subtle. While the GR badging inside is noticeable, it does leather seats with red contrast stitching as well as GR headrests. The Fortuner also comes with a new instrument panel with redials and a GR branded steering wheel. Something to take note of is that Toyota has given the special variant of the vehicle a new set of dampers giving the vehicle a revised suspension system.

Like it is SUV counterpart, the Toyota Hilux GR Sport will be receiving roughly the same treatment as it too has received a couple of Gazoo Racing enhancements. This means that the pickup truck also carries similar specifications to that of its Thailand counterpart. Just like the GR Sport Fortuner, the new variant of the Hilux will be getting a new front bumper, new black alloy wheels, a sports bar, and will come with the GR Sport badging as well. It will also come with red brake calipers with the GR Sport logo to add an extra sporty touch.
Unlike its Fortuner sibling, the Hilux gets more obvious enhancements to make its interior look much sleeker than before. It now gets sports seats with red inserts, GR logos on the headrests, and a GR branded steering wheel. Aside from this the Hilux GR Sport also now comes with aluminum sport pedals and paddle shifters to give it a sportier driving experience. Similar to the Fortuner, the Hilux will also be receiving revised suspension components that come in the form of new monotube dampers for the front and rear for a more stable ride.
Pricing for the GR Fortuner starts at P2,509,000 which is available in two colors. Its pickup truck counterpart is priced at P1,985,000 with the same P20,000 addition price for the special emotional red color option.
